Tri-Dosha’s Chief Therapist Michelle Jeffries

Meet our Senior Therapist, Michelle Jeffries who shares her expertise and love for Ayurveda.

“I have been a qualified Massage and Beauty Therapist since 1996, and worked in various salons in Derbyshire for 10 years before training as a College Lecturer. I attended Derby College where I was awarded Teacher Training Student of the Year, then moved on to Nottingham Trent University where I achieved my Certificate of Education. I spent 10 years teaching at Nottingham College passing on my skills, knowledge and expertise to others. In 2013 my husband and I discovered we were expecting our first child.

Our daughter was quite unwell for the first 6 months of her life and conventional medicine was not working, so I began to research alternative medicine and practices in order to find a way to help her. The alternative route provided us with a solution, and as my interest in alternative practices grew all roads led to Sunita and Tri-Dosha. Sunita kindly invited me to come and train with her and learn more about Ayurveda, the treatments, and the benefits it offers. I loved the Tri-Dosha concept and was hooked! Following my training Sunita invited me to come and work with her at the Wellness Centre which is such a beautiful and therapeutic space I jumped at the chance.

There are so many practices which I enjoy but if I had to choose it would be the soothing Shirodara treatment to alleviate stress and tension from the mind and the deep relief that Pinda Sweda offers to the muscles and joints of the body. It’s even better followed by a generous application of pain balm to continue that feeling of warmth in the body and release remaining tension from the muscles.”
